A STEETON stairlifts firm has won a regional export award.

Acorn Stairlifts, based at Millennium Business Park, won the Export award in the Made in Yorkshire awards and was also highly commended in the Innovation and Large Company categories.

This was the second Export award Acorn had won in the last couple of months.

Acorn’s UK factories have more than doubled from £31million to £71m, and 56 per cent of its revenues now come from outside the UK.

It now has offices in the USA, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa and Europe.

Dave Belmont, Acorn’s company secretary, said: “We are delighted to be recognised.”
