COUNCILLORS will discuss a scheme to boost footfall and investment in Keighley town centre next week.
It will go before Bradford Council’s executive committee on Tuesday December 2.
Keighley is hoping to join 200 other UK towns and cities in becoming a Business Improvement District.
Firms will be asked to vote on the scheme next year and, if 50 per cent vote in favour, it will go ahead. It will mean most businesses paying a 1.5 per cent levy on business rates to raise cash for improvements to boost the town’s economy.
The scheme is led by Keighley Town Centre Association and backed by Bradford Council.
