An expanding online recruitment business has moved into new offices in the centre of Otley.
Blue Octopus, which was launched by brothers Chris and Liam Coleman five years ago, has recently won new clients, including Everest, Cats Protection and A4E and added five staff in recent weeks.
The business, which employs more than 30 people, bought the former Dacre Son & Hartley estate agency building in Station Road, which has been refurbished and renamed Octo House.
The premises were officially opened by local MP Greg Mulholland. He praised the award-winning firm for bringing the building back to life and for contributing to economic recovery.
Chris Coleman said: “Moving into a landmark building like this has been fantastic for the business. It’s a very proud moment for me, my brother Liam and the business. I would also like to thank our suppliers and our staff.”
The company name came about by accident after Liam Coleman accidentally said - the world’s your octopus, instead of oyster and the name stuck.
Blue Octopus developed its own innovative technology to provide clients with an instant view of all their recruitment activity. Engage Recruitment Technology provides an instantly-updated overview of all job applicants, with easy access to every candidate's details. The firm developed tailor-made systems for each client to avoid the need to filter job applications Blue Octopus scooped its first national award after trading for less than a year when it was named as the most improved recruitment agency in the RecruitRank Awards and has since achieve several more accolades.
