Legal eagles at a Bradford-based law firm contributed to a national campaign, which has raised more than £2m for nine charities, by drawing up wills for local people without charging a fee.
Solicitors at LCF Law worked free of charge as part of the Will Aid Campaign. The scheme offers people the opportunity to make or update their will in return for a donation.
Funds are shared by UK charities including ActionAid, Age UK, British Red Cross, Christian Aid, NSPCC, Save the Children, Sightsavers, SCIAF (Scotland) and Trocaire (Northern Ireland).
Neil Shaw, LCF Law partner, said: “As part of the campaign we wavered our fee, with clients making a charity donation instead. We also held a ‘make a will day’ session at St Gemma’s Hospice in Leeds in return for donations to the hospice.
“The money raised will make a real and lasting difference to vulnerable children, families and older people in the UK and around the world.”
