Keighley and Craven District Law Society has been reconstituted – with John Mewies as its president.
John has been a partner at Skipton-based QualitySolicitors Mewies since 1980 and specialises in criminal work as well as property. The firm was founded by his father, Jack, in 1960.
John said: “I’m honoured to take up the presidency and look forward to representing the interests of local lawyers.”
He will serve a two-year term at the society, which acts to promote the interests of solicitors in the area.
John’s colleague, Naomi Duxbury-Tetley, an associate in the litigation department, will act as secretary and Alan Davidson, a partner at the Keighley office of AWB Charlesworth Solicitors, will be treasurer.
Any local lawyer wishing to join should contact Naomi on (01756) 799000 or e-mail naomiduxburytetley@qualitysolicitors.com.
