A Bradford-based award-winning insurance broking group is eyeing acquisitions to boost growth after securing a new finance deal.
Beaumonts Insurance Brokers Ltd, which employs 95 staff at its Bradford headquarters and in Horsforth, Doncaster and Shrewsbury, has secured funding package from Yorkshire Bank.
The company, in Trevor Foster Way, Odsal, handles premiums worth £40 million and offers intermediary services from claims and risk management to corporate and travel insurance.
It specialises in sectors including construction, property, haulage and distribution as well as business and travel insurance.
The firm’s private clients team was recognised in the 2012 Insurance Age awards. Since its launch in 2001, Beaumonts has made a number of acquisitions, including the takeover of Shrewsbury insurance broker Kingsland Robart in 2011. It has also invested in risk management and claims staff at a time when several other insurance brokers have reduced their claims teams in recent years.
The company became a Yorkshire Bank customer after its previous banker withdrew from the UK insurance sector.
The refinance deal will allow Beaumonts to continue its growth plans. The deal also brings Beaumont’s business banking under one roof for the first time as Yorkshire Bank will also provide clearing banking.
The package was arranged by Philip Shearstone, Bradford-based business development manager with Yorkshire Bank’s business and private banking corporate team.
Craig Seed, Beaumonts’ finance director, said: “When seeking a new banking partner, it became clear from early on that Yorkshire Bank could provide the solutions we needed.”
Paul Hambrook, Yorkshire Bank’s head of insurance, said: “I’ve been very impressed with the Beaumont’s service offering to their clients and their vision for the future and look forward to helping them achieve their business goals.”
