Bradford and Leeds law firm Gordons has scooped two more gongs for its innovative apprentice scheme and a major property deal.
The firm’s apprenticeship scheme, which was the first of its kind when launched in 2011 to offer bright school-leavers entry into the legal profession, won the most effective diversity programme prize at management awards organised by The Lawyer magazine.
Paul Ayre, managing partner, said: “This is another coveted prize for all those involved in our apprenticeship scheme.”
Gordons has also been recognised for its role in letting 80,000 sq ft on three floors of the Broad Gate development in central Leeds to Bradford-based Yorkshire Building Society.
It won the commercial property deal of the year category at the Yorkshire Property Industry Awards. Gordons’ partner Nick Chamberlain advised the society on securing the space, in the largest single office transaction in Leeds since 2004.
