The Duke of Devonshire has appointed award-winning Simon Rhatigan as managing director of the Devonshire Hotels group, which owns the Devonshire Arms country house hotel at Bolton Abbey and other hotels and pubs on the Duke’s Bolton Abbey and Chatsworth Estates.
Simon was previously general manager of Blanc Restaurants which saw him take charge of the development of the celebrated Le Manor aux Quat’ Saisons and the opening of Le Petit Blanc brasseries.
Simon said: “I am here to develop the business as a whole and move certain areas forward and, in particular, explore and increase the spa opportunities at Bolton Abbey.”
Adam Smith has been appointed head chef at the Burlington restaurant at The Devonshire Arms, Bolton Abbey. Adam, the 2012 Roux Scholar, has joined from the Ritz in London.
