A specialist college has joined forces with a hairdressing salon to launch a training academy.
The Yorkshire College of Beauty in Yeadon is working with Yazz Number One Hair Studio at Rawdon to enable trainees to become NVQ level two qualified stylists.
The first students have been enrolled and the academy is keen to hear from other potential candidates.
It is a joint venture between Yazz owner Paul Shakeshaft and Christine Tillie, principal of the college.
She said: “Attending the Yazz Academy is the foundation for a successful career in hairdressing. Students will learn at an industry-accredited salon that provides a passport to jobs worldwide.”
Paul added: “This opportunity can take our young inspired candidates to work on cruise ships, fashion shows and alongside great names such as Vivienne Westwood in her studios and industry programmes.”
