An IT company founded by a Bradford-born entrepreneur is looking for acquisitions after continued its rapid growth last year by boosting turnover by more than 50 per cent and recruiting 20 more staff.

Pure Data Solutions, which supplies IT products from leading manufacturers and offers IT-related services including hardware installation, engineering consultancy and disaster recovery, boosted turnover by 52 per cent to £12 million in the year to April 30 and expanded its workforce to 36.

Founder and managing director Steve O-Brien, who grew up in Allerton and attended Rhodesway School, said the Farsley-based firm had added 300 new customers during 2012-13. In the last three months alone, the company had begun supplying almost 120 new organisations, including leading London-based women’s and children’s clothing retailer Monsoon, London Stock Exchange and timber merchant Arnold Laver, which has a site in Bradford.

Pure Data Solutions was founded in Rawdon in 2007 following Mr O’Brien’s involvement with three other IT start-ups and has seen turnover rise from £4.1 million two years ago. Mr O’Brien aims to increase turnover to £20 million in the next two years through continued rapid organic growth in its key areas of consulting, supplying, installing and support services, along. He is also eyeing acquisition opportunities, particularly of companies specialising in technical services, professional services and support.

Mr O’Brien said “It’s an outstanding tribute to the quality of our team and the very high standard of service they provide that we have continued to grow rapidly in a hugely difficult and competitive market. The reseller sector is flat overall and we’re succeeding while many of our competitors are struggling or contracting.

“We’re also looking to recruit even more high-quality, dynamic people, so would welcome direct approaches from anyone fitting that description with relevant backgrounds and skills.”

Pure Data Solutions implements and manages IT systems aimed at enabling public and private sector customers to increase efficiency and grow their businesses.

Organisations served by the company include Apperley Bridge-based motors group JCT600, Calverley-based fleet management and vehicle outsourcing business Zenith and Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust.
