Major investment in upgrading its transport and storage facilities has led to Keighley-based brewer Timothy Taylor retaining a key industry kitemark.
After a rigorous inspection by Cask Marque, an independent organisation which monitors cask ale quality, Taylor’s achieved a score of 98 out of 100 to retain the body’s distributors charter, which recognises best practice in the storage and delivery of cask beer.
About four in five Timothy Taylor’s beers are distributed from wholesalers or brewers depots throughout the country, from Scotland to the South coast.
Taylor has developed a new distribution depot close to the brewery to ensure the quality of beer supplies. The brewer has also invested in a long distance delivery fleet with temperature control.
Paul Marklew, the brewer’s transport manager, said: “We are dedicated to delivering our quality cask ales to our customers in prime condition. We are therefore delighted to once again be awarded Cask Marque’s Distributors Charter.”
