Kevin Whiteman is to take over as non-executive chairman of NG Bailey, the Ilkley-based engineering and building services group in July.
He will succeed Nimble Thompson who steps down as chairman at the end of July.
Kevin (pictured) has been non-executive chairman of Bradford-based Kelda Group and Yorkshire Water since 2010 and was chief executive of both companies for eight years. He has also been chief executive of the National Rivers Authority, regional director for the Environment Agency and held senior positions with British Coal.
His appointment will help NG Bailey’s growth strategy, which includes the expansion of its customer base in the utilities.
Mr Thompson said: “I am very proud to have held the position of non-executive chairman at NG Bailey for 12 years – which is a long time to contribute to any business. I have really enjoyed my time with the company and I am delighted by Kevin’s appointment.”
