Joe Brown could find out today if his first red card in senior football will be scrubbed out.
A Football Association appeals panel are studying the evidence after Brown was sent off for a clash with Blackpool skipper Michael Jackson.
The centre half needed treatment for a cut mouth after the pair clashed on the ground but referee Rob Shoebridge has admitted that there was no contact - and dismissed Brown for intent.
City boss Colin Todd, who has spoken to the official, said: "Joe swung his left foot at him while he was on the floor but didn't connect.
"The video from the match doesn't show anything but their player is willing to speak up for us."
If the appeal fails then Brown faces a three-match ban for violent conduct.
