A 33-year-old man who pulled a knife on a security officer who caught him shoplifting and threatened to stab him was today jailed for eight months.
Luke Wilcock was too drunk to be sentenced at Bradford Crown Court on Friday so he was held in custody over the weekend to start detoxifying.
Wilcock, of Cutler Heights Lane, Bradford, pleaded guily to stealing meat from Iceland on Tong Street, Bradford, on July 19 and threatening to stab Peter Harrison with a kitchen knife.
Chris Smith, prosecuting, said today Mr Harrison challenged Wilcock after seeing him leave the store without paying for the meat.
Wilcock swore at him, drew the knife and threatened to stab him.
Wilcock’s barrister, Jayne Beckett, said he was drunk and tearful at court on Friday. He was an alcoholic and wanted the court to know he was ashamed.
