The new owners of Bradford Bulls have held “positive” talks with Council chiefs about securing support for the club’s future.
Bradford restaurant boss Omar Khan and former Sports Minister Gerry Sutcliffe met today with Bradford Council leader Dave Green, council officers and the sport and leisure portfolio holder Andrew Thornton .
“It was a good, positive meeting and we are due to meet up again next week. We are looking to see what support they could give us in terms of regeneration of the city and the future of the club,” said Mr Sutcliffe.
He said: “We’ve already launched the season tickets and we want the Council to give us the support we want to achieve what we want.”
Under the new price structure, fans are having to pay twice as much for their season tickets compared with last year's prices to bring the struggling side back to a sound financial footing.
However, there is an early bird offer which means supporters can buy a season ticket for 13 games for the price of nine if bought before November 14, as well as an initiative that will see under- 12s able to cheer on the team free of charge at home matches.
