Seething Colin Todd has warned City there will be no hiding from the fall-out of their Blackpool flop.

Todd was livid after his side crashed to their heaviest defeat of the season at Bloomfield Road.

City were jeered by a section of their 1,500 travelling support after the 4-1 drubbing, their third loss in four games.

Some angry fans chanted "You're not fit to wear the shirt" and "Todd out" - and the City boss agreed with their frustration.

Todd said: "There were a lot of our supporters and we've disappointed them. That's an understatement.

"There is no hiding place in football for managers, players or coaches after such an inept performance. We all have to take a hard look at ourselves and say how can we be as bad as that."

City were missing Eddie Johnson with a bruised instep and David Graham had to pull out in the warm-up when his back failed a fitness test.

Youngster Joe Brown was quickly promoted from the bench to start - and was sent off in stoppage time after an incident with Blackpool captain Michael Jackson.

City have launched an appeal against the red card, which would rule out Brown for three matches, and Jackson is understood to be willing to give his support. The Football Association's verdict is expected early in the week.

But Todd refused to use the problems up front as a get-out for his under-achievers.

"There is no excuse for saying this or that person got injured. There were still 11 people out there who have to show real commitment to do much better. The drive and desire wasn't there and you've got to ask the reasons why. We've been 2-0 down before at half-time and have shown the fight to get back - this time it wasn't there.

"I know it's difficult when you've conceded goals, your mind goes and you stop taking responsibility. But we have to make sure that it doesn't happen again.

"It's rubbish to say that there is anything wrong with our fitness levels just because you've let in four. All that happens is you lose your belief in each other and your self-confidence.

"When we have been on our game this season we've been as good as anybody. But there have been little danger signs there in the last few matches and we have to get back to showing that right level of commitment."
