Two thirds of people from Yorkshire own clothes that do not suit them, according to a study by the British Heart Foundation, which has launched the Great British Bag-a-thon this month.
With all these unloved clothes sitting in wardrobes, Bradford’s BHF shops are offering a solution with their appeal for unwanted things.
Regional manager Debbie Boylen said: “We’re all guilty of hanging onto clothes that we’ve fallen out of love with, which is why we are encouraging everyone to take part in the Great British Bag-athon by filling a bag and donating unwanted items.
“With 36 per cent from Yorkshire & Humberside revealing that they can’t be bothered to get rid of clothes that don’t suit them, there are plenty of unwanted items. Just one bag is worth £20 in the fight against heart disease, which makes a real difference.”
