Tickets sales for one of the country’s biggest literature festivals are remaining strong, organisers have revealed.

Last week, a new record was set for opening day general ticket sales for the Ilkley Literature Festival, with headline acts particularly popular.

Now, tickets for several headline events have completely sold out, but organisers says there are lots still available for other big names who will be at the festival which runs from September 28 to October 14.

“Clare Balding, Jack Straw, Michael Portillo and Jeremy Vine have now all sold out, but it’s always worth contacting the festival office on the day to enquire about returns,” a spokesman for the festival said.

“There are plenty of tickets available for a lot of the events and there are some great names tucked away that people should have a look at, in particular Andrew Motion, Jake Arnott and William Shawcross.”

Some events have also changed venue, including Polly Toynbee, who will now be in the Kings Hall at 4.30pm on Sunday, October 14, and Penny Junor who will be at Craiglands Hotel at 4.30pm on the same day.
