Officers in the North Bradford Neighbourhood Policing Team have turned to pedal power in their fight against crime.
Three mountain bikes have been given to the team thanks to funding from the Airedale and North Bradford Policing Division and a Neighbourhood Watch group in Heaton .
The bikes will be used by officers and PCSOs.
PC John Kirkham, of the policing team, said: “These new bikes will enable officers to get out and about within the local community, covering larger areas of their patch.
“Already the bikes have paid dividends, allowing two PCSOs to apprehend a suspect following a burglary in Lower Grange.
“We will still maintain our foot patrols as they form an integral part of our policing approach. However, the bikes will provide us with another option dependant on the circumstances.”
