A house in Delius Avenue, Ravenscliffe , Bradford, was sealed off last night after a man was arrested on suspicion of burglary.
Police officers guarded the property and two scientific support vans were parked outside. White suited forensic officers could also be seen inside the house.
A resident on the street, who did not want to be identified, said: “About 2.30pm a police van pulled up and officers went to the house.
“Then we saw them come out with a man in his early 20s handcuffed.
“About two hours later scientific support vans pulled up and about six other police officers and two plain police cars pulled up and they have been there a while.”
He said the house belonged to a family, who had been moved out while police carried out searches.
A police spokesman said last night: “Airedale and North Bradford police attended an address in Ravenscliffe this afternoon to arrest a man on suspicion of burglary.”
