Councillors have agreed to award the contract for a planned Scout hut and football pavilion in Addingham to a local builder.
Addingham Parish Council held an extraordinary meeting to approve the selection of builder Mark Ridley for the work.
The council, which promised to find a new home for the Scouts after they sold the site of the old hut to make way for Addingham Medical Centre, invited tenders for the project.
The scheme will provide a new base for the Scouts and involve substantial refurbishment of the Stockinger Lane football pavilion.
The council hopes the project will be completed before the end of this year.
A statement said: “The parish council sees this development as an exciting opportunity to improve the facilities available in the village and encourage more participation in sport and youth activities.”
