A group of women will tackle the first of three challenges next weekend to raise money for a girl left paralysed by a climbing frame accident.
Sophie Eddleston is hoping to attract as many women as possible on her three-pronged challenge, which starts with a 20-mile circular walk around Harrogate next Sunday.
She is hoping the campaign – Boots on for Bel – can encourage at least 500 women to help raise vital funds to help in the recovery and rehabilitation of former Ilkley schoolgirl Bel Young (pictured).
The 11-year-old spent months being treated at Leeds General Infirmary after falling from a climbing frame in a neighbour’s garden in 2010 and breaking her neck.
As well as the walk around Harrogate, Mrs Eddleston is hoping a group of women will tackle the three Yorkshire peaks of Pen-y-Ghent, Whernside and Ingleborough in a day and Mount Kilimanjaro next year.
All money raised by the events will go to the Being Bel Trust.
