Criticism of Ilkley Summer Festival has also renewed support and interest in the event, says one of its directors.
Ward councillor, Anne Hawkesworth (Con, Ilkley) has declared the tenth festival a “huge success” – and planning is already underway for taking the festival into its next ten years.
Organisers of the month-long festival recently ran into criticism from an Ilkley parish councillor.
Councillor Mike Ridgway labelled organisers a “bunch of well-intentioned amateurs”.
But Coun Hawkesworth said: “In spite of trials and tribulations, including the weather, all feedback has been good. We now have to consider how we can refresh it for the next ten years.”
