For one night only a member of the original Full Monty cast will return to the stage to host a recreation of the famous disrobing scenes at a charity event in Saltaire .

Shipley actor Steve Huison, who starred as Lomper in the popular 1997 film, will be joined on the stage by seven volunteers in aid of his charity The Hospital to Home Mental Health Project.

Steve has coached the men, along with his wife Terrie who choreographed a routine. Steve will play the role of Squinty McGinty and will compere the evening.

Ricky Butler, a professional supporting artist and actor, of Doncaster, said: “It is brilliant fun. It’s embarrassing but it is something I’ve always wanted to do. I am 60 years old now.”

Their rendition of the film will see the men recreate scenes of the Sheffield-based film. The story follows six unemployed men who decide they could make a small fortune by stripping.

Funds will go towards the UK’s first Soteria house, where people with mental illness will be treated with therapy.

Mark Addy, who played the character Dave in the original film, will attend the performance and enjoy the show from the other side of the stage this time.

The performance forms part of a variety evening which will see a host of acts take to the stage including Justin Moorhouse, who has appeared in Phoenix Nights and 8 out of 10 Cats .

The event has sold out and will be held at Caroline Street Club, Saltaire, on Saturday, September 15.
