The Lord Mayor and Lady Mayoress of Bradford, Councillor Dale Smith and his wife, Margaret, officially opened a funeral home.
Councillor Smith unveiled a plaque to mark the occasion at The Co-operative Funeralcare in Five Lane Ends.
The Reverend Nick Blundel, of St Andrew's Methodist Church in Undercliffe , the Reverend Robin Gamble, of Holy Trinity Parish Church in Idle , Father Pat Wall, of Our Lady and St Francis of Assisi in Eccleshill , and humanist celebrant Janice Thornton , conducted a service of dedication.
The public were then invited in to the home for an informal guided tour and to find out more about the work of a funeral director.
Visitors were able to talk to members of staff at the home, including Nick Riley, principal funeral director, and Jenny O’Sullivan, funeral arranger.
