A Skipton man will be going full speed ahead this Bank Holiday Monday when he sets off on a five-day-tour of the country from John O’ Groats to Lands End in an old banger he bought for £150.
Keith Moorby, community champion at Tesco Superstore in Skipton, has organised the event as a fundraising challenge for Cancer Research UK.
He will be accompanied in his twelve-year-old Renault Kangoo by friends, Damon Ralph and Aaron Outhwaite, also of Skipton.
Mr Moorby hopes to raise more than £1,000 and contribute to the £10m record fundraising target Tesco staff across the country have set themselves.
He said: “I was really keen to come up with a fun way of supporting our Charity of the Year and I think this will be a huge challenge. Hopefully we will raise lots of money to help Cancer Research UK.”
