Voluntary and community groups will be in the spotlight at the Ilkley and District Community Showcase next month.
Keighley and Ilkley Voluntary and Community Action will hold the showcase at the King’s Hall and Winter Garden, Ilkley, on Saturday, September 8.
It will give the public the chance to learn what support is available and let groups tell the wider community what they do. It is hoped the event will also highlight volunteering opportunities.
Community action trustee Elizabeth Hughes said: “We are very fortunate to have such a diverse number of voluntary groups in the area, with many people giving their time so freely and getting something from their efforts as well.”
Ilkley Office co-ordinator Mary Hamilton added: “Exhibitors will be able to spend time discussing what volunteering opportunities exist within their organisation, giving the public an opportunity to browse and shop around.”
Ilkley and Keighley MP Kris Hopkins will open the Showcase event at 10am.
