A pair of planting days to create a new Keighley community garden has been declared a success.
Dozens of volunteers turned out both days to support the Keighley Garden of Life project.
The scheme has brought many Keighley people together to design and build the garden in the Beechcliffe area of Cliffe Castle Park. The site was previously an open, grassed area. The new garden will be officially opened on September 2.
The woman who started the project, Jo Prowse, said: “Seventy-six people came to the first day and despite the pouring rain we had 41 people at the second day.
“It was great to see people from the community from so many different backgrounds pulling together to make the garden grow.”
The next and last planting day is Sunday. Visit keighleygardenoflife.blogspot.com to find out more.
