With the busy summer of sport coming to a close, blood donors in Bradford are now being asked to help keep stocks healthy ahead of winter.
Currently 7,000 units of blood are needed in hospitals across England and North Wales every day.
NHS Blood and Transplant (NHSBT) is reminding blood donors and those thinking about giving blood for the first time in the Bradford area to donate to continue to keep stocks healthy.
Blood has a limited shelf life of 35 days for red blood cells and seven days for platelets, meaning it is vital that donors continue to come forward.
Donna Batty, lead donor relations manager for NHSBT, said: “We are so grateful to all the donors who helped us over a very busy summer.”
