Bradford Royal Infirmary ’s volunteer radio station, Radio Royal, will broadcast the chaplaincy’s Christian service of worship for the first time on Sunday.
The half-hour programme, which will be broadcast weekly at 10.30am, will be repeated on the station every Wednesday at 10.30am.
The Foundation Trust’s chaplaincy team leader, the Rev Chris Johnson, who is the editor and broadcaster of most of the services said: “This is a great opportunity for most people to listen to a Christian service of worship at their bedside.
“We are hoping that lots of people will listen and there is also the opportunity for people to request someone from the chaplaincy to visit them.”
Most of the services have been written and are presented by the Rev Johnson, while others have been devised and presented by the chaplaincy volunteer visitors’ team.
Patients will be able to hear the Christian religious service by tuning into channel one of their Patientline bedside headset.
