Almost 6,000 tickets were handed out to people keen to try the latest broadcast innovation at Bradford’s National Media Museum during the London 2012 Olympics.
The museum was one of three locations in the country to trial the Super Hi-Vision during the Olympics, offering viewers the chance to see footage in Ultra High Definition, at 16 times the resolution of standards HD television. The Cubby Broccoli Cinema was transformed into a special viewing theatre so people could try out the new experience for themselves.
A total of 5,697 viewers took the chance to sample the television of the future, which was billed as providing such a realistic experience, viewers feel like they are actually at the event.
