Bus passengers claim they have been “left in the dark” by what they described as a badly-advertised bus diversion.
The First 645 bus was diverted and a free shuttle bus used around the Odsal Top area, due to gas works repairs which began in July and are due to finish on Sunday, September 2.
Mick Melvin contacted The Telegraph & Argus on behalf of concerned bus users in the Wibsey area.
He said: “On the first day of the diversion many passengers were left in the dark about what was happening and they were left waiting at the Mayo Avenue, Manchester Road bus stop. There were many elderly residents and young mothers with children and absolutely no explanation why or where the 645 had been re-routed to.”
A spokesman for First said: “I am sorry our 645 customers have been disrupted by the gas works in the Wibsey area. I can assure customers and residents we are doing all we can to minimise disruption during these works which were notified to us at very short notice.”
