New Pudsey station is to get a £1m major redesign and 176 extra car parking spaces by next June.
The scheme which has been led by transport authority Metro, along with contributions from Leeds City Council and the Station Commercial Project Facility, will also see improvements to the nearby road junction connecting the station to Bradford Road.
Car parking will stay free and there are plans for a major refurbishment inside the station as well.
Pudsey Labour councillor Mick Coulson said: “Parking problems have been an issue here for a number of years and I am pleased it is now being addressed. It will definitely improve the rail service from New Pudsey and allow more residents in the area to park at the station and travel into Leeds by train.”
