A man was involved in a collision when he was more than twice the legal alcohol limit for driving, a Court heard.

Christopher Porter, 26, of North Walk, Long Lane, Harden , near Bingley , pleaded guilty yesterday at Bradford and Keighley Magistrates’ Court to driving on Wilsden Old Road on July 31, while over the limit.

A collision occurred with another vehicle on a bend of the road, prosecutor Paul Ramsay said, which left an occupant of the other car with an injury.

Police smelled alcohol on Porter, he was unsteady on his feet, and his speech was slurred, the court heard.

Mr Ramsay said Porter had drunk four or five cans of lager.

He was ordered by magistrates to pay a £100 fine, costs of £85 and a victim surcharge of £15. He was disqualified from driving for 20 months.

The court was told Porter was sorry for his actions and he had co-operated fully with officers.
