A 31-year-old shooting victim has been spared an immediate jail sentence after police seized £1,025 of criminal cash from his home.
Cash wash worker Mohammed Malik, of Heysham Drive, Holme Wood , Bradford, needed surgery after he was recently shot in the leg, Bradford Crown Court heard yesterday.
He pleaded guilty to possession of the money as criminal property between November last year and February.
Malik’s barrister, Adam Birkby, said his client would be recuperating for two years from the injury.
He was a father of three with a steady job who closed his eyes as to where the money had come from.
Judge Peter Benson sentenced Malik to eight months imprisonment, suspended for two years, with a community order and a four month overnight curfew order.
