Three new zones have been set up for festival-goers at this year’s Bingley Music Live .

Organisers of the three-day event at Myrtle Park have created an arts and cabaret area in the main arena, with walkabout performances between the live acts on stage, including an urban dance troupe and a variety of street entertainers mingling with the crowds.

The Best Joined Up graffiti team will be in the arena making street art out of two scrap cars. Festival-goers inspired by their work can get creative at an art workshop or constantly evolving graffiti wall.

Also new this year is an expanded children’s zone, including play workshops, mask-making, den-building, circus skills, face painting and a paddling pool, and a chill-out space.

The Woodland Trader Village will offer festival-goers an alternative place to relax. Trees in the village will be lit up by vintage lampshades and the area will showcase the work of some of Yorkshire’s best craftspeople and artists.

There will also be glitter tattoos, face-painting, hair braiding, and head and neck massages in one of two tepees. Festival revellers can also decorate and make a wish at a Wishing Tree.

Councillor Andrew Thornton , Bradford Council’s executive member responsible for leisure, said: “These newly-introduced features will help to ensure that this year’s Bingley Music Live caters to all tastes and age groups.”

Bradford Council has already announced the full-line up of the festival, which will see 62 bands play across three different stages - including headliners The Charlatons, Razorlight and Nero – from Friday, August 31, until Sunday, September 2.
