A family have released video footage of a dad-to-be being targeted by a driver reversing into him during a night of violence.

The family of Zulfran Suleman used a mobile phone to record an Audi reversing into his Honda Civic car as he got out of the driver’s side door in Devonshire Street West, Keighley . Mr Suleman said a gun was then aimed at his elder brother, Imran Khan, 29, and the pair were told by the driver of the car they would “get it” before driving away.

Mr Suleman, 23, said: “I parked my car and the next minute there was this car reversing into me and my knee just clipped out of place. If it had managed to get my leg, I probably would have lost it.

“He had a black object in his hand which looked like a gun. It was at close range. He pulled out the gun and said, ‘you are going to get it’ and drove off.”

Mr Khan’s car was written off after being set alight early yesterday in an arson attack hours after the initial violence, police said.

Mr Suleman’s sister, Fazila, whose family owns a convenience store in Devonshire Street West, said: “We have a business and a family to support and my brother has a kid on the way. We are scared.”

Mr Suleman had returned from dropping off his mother at another house in Keighley to visit relatives visiting from Pakistan when he was targeted at about 7.35pm on Wednesday. The video footage shows a black Audi S8 driving past Mr Suleman’s car before reversing back as he opened the car door to get out.

Members of his family are seen to come out of the store as the car is driven off.

Mr Suleman is seen limping into the family store with the help of a family member after pushing his kneecap back into place.

About seven hours later, Keighley firefighters and police were called to Mr Khan’s home in Devonshire Street, to tackle his burning Volvo car parked on the road outside.

A West Yorkshire Police spokesman confirmed a 23-year-old man had been taken to hospital with a leg injury after what officers described as a “disturbance” between a large group of Asian men in Devonshire Street West. “It is believed that some of the men were armed,” a spokesman said. “Neighbourhood policing team officers carried out high-visibility and reassurance patrols of the area following the incident.”

The spokesman said the car arson in the street is also being linked to the earlier incident. However, it was still unclear whether a second suspected car arson attack in nearby Cartmel Road – which burned out a Vauxhall Astra – was linked to the earlier incidents.
