A £1million civic centre has been granted a licence to sell alcohol until the early hours on weekends.
Keighley Town Council, which runs the Civic Centre building in North Street, was told to re-submit an application to Bradford Council after an earlier bid was withdrawn following concerns from the police.
The new application, which has been approved by Bradford Council, is for a drinks license to serve alcohol until midnight from Sunday to Thursday and 2am on Friday and Saturday.
It also allows live music between the same hours, performance of plays between 5pm and 10pm from Wednesday to Saturday as well as dance performances from 9am until midnight on Sundays, Wednesdays and Thursdays, 10pm on Mondays and Tuesdays, and until 2am on Fridays and Saturdays.
The latest application is expected to be rubber- stamped by the Council’s licensing panel at its meeting on Thursday, August 16.
