Staff and pupils at Bradford Moor Primary School have raised £3,728 for Cancer Research UK in honour of their late head teacher, Stewart Duxbury, who died from cancer aged 54 in October last year.

The children raised the money by taking part in a sponsored run at Myra Shay, off Barkerend Road, in March, which was attended by Mr Duxbury’s wife Gill and sons Adam and Matthew.

A group of staff, Mr Duxbury’s family and friends also took part in the Bradford 10k run to raise funds. The school will present a cheque to Andy Jackson, action team co-ordinator for Cancer Research UK, on Friday, July 13.
