An exhibition of south Asia goes on display at Central Hall, Keighley, on Monday.

The Sab Rang – meaning All Colours – exhibition looks at the subcontinent’s cultural heritage, from calligraphy to contemporary wall art.

The exhibition, on show at the hall in Alice Street until July 13, features miniature paintings of the Muslim Mogul emperors and complex patterns of mehndi, decorations applied to the skin.

It will showcase the work of artists Akari Maharani, Zareena Bano and Humaira Minhas.

Matt Blackmore, the centre’s development manager, said: “Central Hall prides itself on being an easily accessible resource for all of the town’s diverse communities.

“That’s why it’s so important to us that our series of free exhibitions reflects the heritage of all our diverse communities.

“Despite the large population of British Asians, there is currently nowhere else to view art from this cultural background.”

Sab Rang is being hosted by Artists in Business, which provides support through fairs, workshops and seminars, with Bradford-based south Asian arts organisation Kala Sangam.

Admission to the exhibition is free, from Mondays to Fridays 8.30am to 4pm, and Saturdays 9am to 2pm.
