A 21-year-old man who performed what a judge described as “wheelies” in a residential area of Bradford was sentenced yesterday for dangerous driving.
One skidmark measured by police investigating the incident for which Joseph Holland was being sentenced was 17.3 metres long, Bradford Crown Court was told.
On May 18 last year, a Buttershaw resident saw a car appear to lose control and veer towards a path as he was outside with his partner and her children, prosecutor Richard Smith told the court. He said the man had feared for the safety of children in the street.
Holland, of Beresford Road, Buttershaw, was sentenced by Judge Robert Bartfield to a 12-month community order with 120 hours of unpaid work, disqualified from driving for 12 months and ordered to pay £300 costs.
