Anti-terrorism training will be given to public service workers. The course is for front-line staff in jobs such as the police, social services, education, probation and health and will be based on the Government’s Prevent Agenda, which aims to stop terrorists or those supporting terrorism. Government ministers believe that such workers have a key role to play in identifying people who may be vulnerable to radicalisation. Workers will learn how to use their professional judgment to recognise people who might be susceptible to messages of violence, and respond with common sense. The afternoon course will run on Monday at the Keighley Campus of Leeds City College in Bradford Road. For further information, call 0845 0457275.
