Firefighters spent more than three hours battling a “significant” blaze at a house in Embsay, Skipton, early today.
Crews from Skipton and Silsden were called to the stone-built property in Baynes Way at about 2.15am.
They were joined by crews from Grassington and an aerieal ladder from Harrogate. Firefighters used specialist breathing apparatus to check inside the property.
The crews brought the blaze under control at about 5.35am but were still damping down this morning.
No-one is believed to have been in the house at the time.
A North Yorkshire Fire Service spokesman said today: “The property had significant fire damage.
“An investigation is now in progress.”
