An urgent need for an extra set of wheels to help a thriving group of sea cadets take to the water has been met by a security firm.
Following a surge in membership from 12 to 52 in the past three years, Keighley Marine & Sea Cadets needed a second minibus to carry cadets to Ponden reservoir, near Haworth, for events.
Shipley-based security firm Select Group, which guards the cadets’ base in Waddington Street, Keighley, stepped in to provide a new bus complete with appropriate livery as part of its support for community and sports-related initiatives.
Select boss Pete Spencer said: “We are fully committed to helping children and young people develop their skills and talents. Keighley Marine & Sea Cadets are thriving and it’s a pleasure to support such a successful unit.”
