A 39-year-old man has been jailed for two years for street drug-dealing in Bradford.
Craig Hemmingway pleaded guilty to supplying heroin and possession of heroin and crack cocaine with intent to supply in Huddersfield Road, Wyke, on September 21.
Hemmingway, who has moved to West Ealing, London, was caught on the first day he turned to drug dealing to fund his habit and pay off a debt, Bradford Crown Court heard yesterday.
He was arrested with 14 wraps of Class A drugs stuffed down his sock and a further five on the floor of his car.
Hemmingway’s lawyer, Andrew Walker, said he resorted to peddling drugs after losing his job.
He had since made a fresh start in London.
But Judge Jonathan Rose said Class A drugs were a root cause of a significant proportion of crime in the country.
