A councillor has welcomed the eviction of a group of travellers from a field in the district.
Councillor Vanda Green-wood said a group of eight caravans moved on to the football pitch and playing fields in Thackley Old Road, Shipley, last week.
She said the family were followed by another one the following day.
She said: “So, we had two lots of families.
“The Council has gone through the usual court orders to get them moved.”
She said the first family moved off the site yesterday while the second group were due to move off today.
Last night, however, Councillor Greenwood said she had received unconfirmed reports the group had moved on to a new site off Livingstone Road, in Bolton Woods.
She said: “I welcome the fact they have been moved but I’m not happy they have moved on this new one at all, far from it.”
