Danny Cadamarteri has failed in a bid to clear his name over drug charges.
The former City striker is currently serving a six-month ban after being charged under FA rule E25 concerning doping control.
He was charged after traces of ephedrine was found in a drugs test carried out by UK Sport testers before a game last season.
Cadamarteri's contract at Valley Parade, which had a year to run, was cancelled in the summer following talks with the club and the Professional Footballers' Association.
After losing an appeal, Cadamarteri is still prevented from playing again until November 10.
