Peter Jackson insists that City are the favourites to triumph in Satur-day's Valley Parade derby.
The Huddersfield boss has started the mind games by declaring that his old club will be expected to notch up a fifth home win.
"I would say that we are definitely the underdogs for this one," said Jackson.
"It's probably the first time in two years that's been the case but when you look at Bradford's league position and how well they are playing, then the pressure is on them to win it.
"Bradford's home form has let them down over the last couple of seasons but they have really picked that up this time. They have started very well and deserve to be up there, while we have been indifferent."
Former City skipper Jackson admits his biggest fear is at the back - Huddersfield have already leaked 18 goals.
They have kept only two clean sheets all season and the last one on their travels was in the play-offs at Barnsley in May.
He added: "We know all about David Graham and Dean Windass scoring regularly but that's similar to us.
"Our biggest problem has been defensively and we've been letting in too many silly goals.
"We've only managed a couple of clean sheets and that's really let us down because we're always among the top scorers in the division.
"But our away form has been very good just recently. We had a tremendous performance down at Swansea to win 2-1 and then came back from 2-0 down to draw with Tranmere.
"We went into the Swansea game very much as the underdogs and came out on top. It will be just the same on Saturday and hopefully we can pull off the same sort of result to kick-start our season.
"It's the game everyone looks forward to and we know the atmosphere is going to be intimidating and very tense. I'm on the sideline kicking every ball in every game but even more so in the derby and I'm sure it's the same for Colin (Todd).
"Both managers know the stakes are high because you want to put one over your greatest rivals."
