A teenager was injured in a hit-and-run incident on a busy Keighley road.

Police said the young woman, was taken to Airedale Hospital with a fractured ankle after the collision, in North Street, close to its junction with Mornington Street.

He described the car involved as being a blue-grey Ford Escort and said investigations were continuing into the crash at 1pm yesterday.

Sohail Akhtar, 16, said: “The woman was on the ground screaming. We tried calling [the driver back but he just drove off.”
