Youngsters in Bradford are being urged to take part in this year’s Sport Relief campaign on Friday, March 23.

Schools and early years groups in the region raised more than £220,000 for the cause in 2010, with £4.3 million collected across the country.

To take part, schools can organise a Sport Relief Mile with pupils running, skipping, hopping and dancing to the finish line. All money raised will help disadvantaged people in the UK.

Aleks Leimanis, schools and youth manager at Comic Relief, said: “Schools and early years groups are some of the best fundraisers for Sport Relief and we are eternally grateful for their dedication and hard work.

“Up and down the country, one million people are expected to do the Sainsbury’s Sport Relief Mile, but we can’t do that without your help. We absolutely love hearing about what you have planned, so come on Yorkshire, go the extra mile and be a part of something truly fantastic.”
